Your senior session location and wardrobe should be like peanut butter and jelly, like macaroni and cheese, like summer and ice cream. Generally speaking, one should complement the other!
Meet Allison. Allison had a successful and visually dazzling senior portrait session partly due to location and clothing planning we did beforehand to achieve the results she wanted. Considering how your clothing matches your location choices is such a simple thing but can have a great impact on your final portraits.
Lets say you know you want pictures on your church steps, a southern home, or maybe some pretty white columns or architecture. Consider selecting something a bit more “dressy” for a timeless, more upscale look. Notice how the coral stripes in Allison’s dress really pop and force all the attention on our model against this mostly white and gray backdrop. The cool gray and warm stripes match up well for a stunning photo.
Or maybe you want more of an urban feel at your session? Check out Allison’s downtown alley pics suited for her trendy jean outfit complete with ankle boots and hat. Notice how her clothing and location look fitting? It’s as if she were just hanging out in that environment….maybe meeting a friend for coffee downtown…and we caught her on camera.
Going for a more girly, romantic look? We married Allison’s floral romper with a white picket fence and lush greenery for a soft, romantic feel. The scene almost looks like a custom painting she is so well suited to her environment! Pretty. And very casual.
Finally we shot some amazing images in a field of trees and flowers and Allison chose a simple, white dress with a bit of lace and texture detail near her neckline. Its simple, elegant and no fuss. The simple, white dress lends focus to her beauty and details of the natural setting.
